Program start │ Write at the DOS prompt: DRHARD
│ Note: It's recommended that you copy the program to
│ your hard drive.
│
Startup mode │ At the bottom of the first program screen you will
│ see some buttons that allow you to take influence on
│ the following program initialization and program comfort.
│ "Quick Start" :The mainly important data about your PC
│ are collected at start;
│ "Comfort start":expanded data collection at start;
│ advantage: in the menu, while generating
│ reports or during compact analysis super-
│ fluous analysis steps are avoided. The
│ risk of a crash at start is the greatest
│ in this start mode but also the following
│ user comfort.
│ "Safity Start": no data are collected at start. The
│ risk of a crash is mimimized.
│ No PC data are shown in the overview window
│ "Step Start" : like comfort start, however each analysis
│ step has to be confirmed.
│ This allows you to exclude a problematic
│ analysis from the usual startup procedure.
│
Installation │ It's recommended that you install the program onto the
│ hard disk although it's possible to run it directly from
│ the floppy disk or cd rom (if files aren't compressed)
│ Hard disk access is much faster than floppy disk access.
│
Profi Install │ Copy all files into the directory of your choice. That's
│ all. There are no archives with compressed files.
│ Start the pogram with: DRHARD
│
Easy Install │ The program disk contains an easy-to-use installation
│ batch file named INSTALL.BAT.
│ The syntax is:
│ INSTALL [DRIVE LETTER:] [DIRECTORY]
│ You can determine target drive and directory by your own.
│ (Example: install d: sysinfo)
│ By running INSTALL.BAT without any parameters
│ Dr. Hardware will be installed into the directory DRHARD
│ on drive C.
│
│ Before running the program you may configure the program
│ via DRHARD.INI but there is no need to do that.
│
All you need... │ (to run the program) are the files DRHARD.EXE and
│ DRHARDE.DAT and also USER.DAT if it's the registered
│ version. The file BENCHCMP.DAT is used for the
│ benchmark comparision in the registered version.
│
Program Setup │ You can take influence on the program behaviour and optics
│ by doing entries in the configuration file DRHARD.INI.
│ In order to do this you need an ASCII editor.
│ Almost all settings can be configured from inside the
│ program too. There is one important exception:
│ If there is not enough conventional memory to load the
│ program please activate the setting "SMALL RAM" if it is
│ not set. The default setting however is "active", so
│ nothing has to be done.
│
Guarantee │ Note: The complete license agreement can be found
│ in the file LICENSE.TXT.
│
│ The program author takes no responsibility for the
│ suitability of the program for any purpose. Also the
│ author takes no responsibility for damage resulting
│ directly or indirectly from use of the program or its
│ documentation.
│ By using this program, the user accepts these conditions
│ of license and the ones that are fixed in the file
│ LICENSE.TXT.
│
Tip │ It's recommended that you backup all important data before
│ running this program.
│ Be careful especially in an active network environment.
│ You also should make a copy of your original disk.
