  102.  Tip             │ The really authentic analysis of the hardware components
  103.                  │ requieres a machine running in Real Mode. Switch off your 
  104.                  │ EMM Manager and run the program under DOS. 
  105.                  │ Under WINDOWS (especially under Windows 95!) or OS/2 
  106.                  │ you will get partially reduced and less accurate  results.

  191.  Program start   │ Write at the DOS prompt: DRHARD
  192.                  │ Note: It's recommended that you copy the program to
  193.                  │ your hard drive.

  195.  Startup mode    │ At the bottom of the first program screen you will
  196.                  │ see some buttons that allow you to take influence on 
  197.                  │ the following program initialization and program comfort.
  198.                  │ "Quick Start" :The mainly important data about your PC
  199.                  │                are collected at start; 
  200.                  │ "Comfort start":expanded data collection at start;
  201.                  │                advantage: in the menu, while generating
  202.                  │                reports or during compact analysis super-
  203.                  │                fluous analysis steps are avoided. The 
  204.                  │                risk of a crash at start is the greatest
  205.                  │                in this start mode but also the following
  206.                  │                user comfort.
  207.                  │ "Safity Start": no data are collected at start. The
  208.                  │                risk of a crash is mimimized.  
  209.                  │                No PC data are shown in the overview window
  210.                  │ "Step Start"   : like comfort start, however each analysis
  211.                  │                step has to be confirmed.
  212.                  │                This allows you to exclude a problematic
  213.                  │                analysis from the usual startup procedure.

  215.  Installation    │ It's recommended that you install the program onto the 
  216.                  │ hard disk although it's possible to run it directly from
  217.                  │ the floppy disk or cd rom (if files aren't compressed)
  218.                  │ Hard disk access is much faster than floppy disk access.
  219.                  │
  220.  Profi Install   │ Copy all files into the directory of your choice. That's 
  221.                  │ all. There are no archives with compressed files. 
  222.                  │ Start the pogram with: DRHARD
  223.                  │
  224.  Easy Install    │ The program disk contains an easy-to-use installation
  225.                  │ batch file named INSTALL.BAT.
  226.                  │ The syntax is:  
  227.                  │ INSTALL [DRIVE LETTER:] [DIRECTORY]
  228.                  │ You can determine target drive and directory by your own.
  229.                  │ (Example: install d: sysinfo)
  230.                  │ By running INSTALL.BAT without any parameters
  231.                  │ Dr. Hardware will be installed into the directory DRHARD 
  232.                  │ on drive C.
  233.                  │  
  234.                  │ Before running the program you may configure the program 
  235.                  │ via DRHARD.INI but there is no need to do that.
  236.                  │
  237.  All you need... │ (to run the program) are the files DRHARD.EXE and
  238.                  │ DRHARDE.DAT and also USER.DAT if it's the registered
  239.                  │ version. The file BENCHCMP.DAT is used for the
  240.                  │ benchmark comparision in the registered version.

  242.  Program Setup   │ You can take influence on the program behaviour and optics
  243.                  │ by doing entries in the configuration file DRHARD.INI. 
  244.                  │ In order to do this you need an ASCII editor.
  245.                  │ Almost all settings can be configured from inside the
  246.                  │ program too. There is one important exception: 
  247.                  │ If there is not enough conventional memory to load the
  248.                  │ program please activate the setting "SMALL RAM" if it is
  249.                  │ not set. The default setting however is "active", so
  250.                  │ nothing has to be done.
